The Pick Punch.
A fantastic invention from America, it took me a month or so to find the pick punch available in the UK at Plethora Picks.
com Now your probably wandering what this thing is.
Well, it looks like a large stapler and is big black and shiny.
All you need to do is find some plastic to 'PUNCH' for your plectrum, slide it into the front end of the tool, and squeeze! Personally I found old gift cards have the perfect pick feel to me (once punched) but literally, ANYTHING plastic will make a pick.
And of course it is all down to personal feel and what works for you but with some playing around (and it is fun to punch holes in everything!) your going to find the perfect plastic to make your own pick from.
I have personally made 100's of my own plectrums from nothing more than recyclable materials.
The best i have found are: Expired Credit Cards Gift Cards - Personal favourites, similar feel to 1mm Jim Dunlops Mobile Top-up Cards Plastic place mats - Had some lying around the house that were no longer needed Milk Cartons - for a nice thin flexible pick Washing Machine sachet carton (like arial) - Semi flexible, but see through! Butter tubs - Another example to get some flexible picks There were loads more but you get the general idea, most container packaging works well, and of course you are doing your bit by recycling all of this old plastic material.
