In this article I want to show you how to go about protecting a business idea so that you won't get ripped off by people who think they can steal it.
The history books are full of people who had that eureka moment and then where robbed of their millions and left penniless.
Now you might have heard that if you want to start protecting a business idea you need to get a patent, and this is actually good advice.
If you have the money for a lawyer and the patent fee then you should stop reading this now and just spend the money.
But if you would like a cheaper method then I want to show you something I do to protect my ideas.
Now you should always at least check with a lawyer to make sure that this system will work in your country, but if everything checks out then you're good to go.
Protecting an idea is basically protecting intellectual property and all you need to do is prove that you had the idea first.
Here is how we do that: 1.
Write a very detailed description of your idea and print it out.
Also make an audio recording describing your idea.
Now you want to go to the post office and post your idea back to yourself registered post.
Ask the post master to stamp the date over the opening to your envelop so that you can prove it has not been tampered with.
When you receive your envelop back put it in a safe or safely deposit box.
Now if there is ever a time when you need to prove that you had the idea first you can open your dated envelope and prove that you where first to come up with it.
I must state again that you need to call a lawyer and make sure that this will work in your country.
